Mosaic House Clubhouse
Mosaic House Clubhouse is a welcoming community that supports individuals living with mental illness in developing skills, confidence, and meaningful connections. Modeled after Fountain House, the first clubhouse established in New York City in 1948, it provides vocational, educational, and social opportunities in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Every member is guaranteed:

- Meaningful work.
- Meaningful relationships.
- A place to return.
How the Clubhouse Works:
- Members are actively involved in all operational and decision-making procedures of the clubhouse.
- Members work side by side in "work units" to keep the clubhouse running.
- The work of the clubhouse is central to its success; work builds genuine relationships, confidence, and increases self-esteem.
- Member participation is voluntary.
Each work unit is responsible for completing specific tasks for the clubhouse. While some members pursue volunteer work or continued education, work is the central focus. Members learn valuable skills as they work and build relationships at the clubhouse.
Work & Opportunities:
- Members contribute to daily clubhouse operations.
- Opportunities for volunteering or continuing education.
- Access to Transitional Employment (TE):
- Entry-level jobs in the community.
- 8–20 hours per week.
- Lasts 6–9 months.
- Training provided by clubhouse staff.
Community & Social Life
Mosaic House offers social hours after the work-ordered day as another tool for building relationships in the community. Experience and research have shown that involvement in a clubhouse or a job increases members' self-esteem and mental well-being, while fostering stability in their everyday lives.
