Partial Hospital Program

The Partial Hospital Program (PHP) provides a therapeutic treatment environment designed for individuals 18 and older who are struggling with severe mental health issues. Our individualized, comprehensive, holistic approach serves as an opportunity to gain insight and receive support through a variety of therapeutic mediums thereby reducing the frequency of inpatient hospitalizations.

The PHP serves as an opportunity for people who have been hospitalized to re-enter and adjust to community living, and also serves as an alternative to hospitalization for people experiencing a crisis. Group therapy is offered six hours a day on Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 2:40pm. The Partial Hospital Program is located at 1000 Lancaster Avenue, Reading, Pennsylvania. At Threshold's PHP, we understand that all people struggle at times and our caring and professional staff can assist those hurting in a confidential, supportive environment. The therapeutic community allows for individual engagement and promotes personal responsibility. Upon admission to the program, the following services are provided as part of the individual's integral care plan:

  • Psychiatric evaluation and monthly assessments including medication management by the attending psychiatrist
  • Multidisciplinary treatment team approach
  • Comprehensive, ongoing recovery and outcome-based treatment planning
  • Discharge planning to outpatient services
